Will I get a job after the course?
Yes. There are always job opportunities to teach English in Thailand. To legally work you will need a bachelor's degree, a valid passport, a visa and in most cases a police clearance from your home country. Essential TEFL will assist you with your CV, interview preparation and job search through our placement programme. Check out the job placement page for more information.
What teaching jobs are available in Thailand?
You will find jobs in private, bilingual and international schools, language centres, online teaching and corporate English. With a TEFL certification from Essential TEFL you will also be qualified to teach anywhere in the world where English teachers are in demand.
How much are TEFL teachers paid in Thailand?
Salaries depend on the school type and role. Private schools typically pay between 35,000 and 55,000 THB per month, while international schools often pay more. The demand for qualified English teachers is strong, and salaries generally allow for a comfortable lifestyle in Bangkok.
How much money should I bring with me?
We recommend bringing between 100,000 and 150,000 THB. This covers your accommodation deposit (usually two months' rent), day-to-day living during the course, and any expenses while you wait for your first salary. Most schools pay at the end of the month, so forward planning is important.
Does Essential TEFL cover flights or accommodation?
