Ofqual is the UK government body that regulates qualifications, exams, and training providers in England. It sets the official standards for recognised courses, including TEFL.
Essential TEFL is accredited through TQUK, a recognised awarding organisation regulated by Ofqual. Our Level 5 course has been reviewed and approved to meet national qualification standards.
The Level 5 rating describes the qualification level. The TQUK certificate, CELTA and Trinity CertTESOL remain separate qualifications with different syllabuses, assessment processes and delivery models.
